Ferroelectric Domains in ErMnO3

ErMnO3, z-cut, single crystal Ferroelectric Domains in ErMnO3 Bright and dark areas correspond to positively and negatively polariszed domains. The favor of the negatively polarzied domains is due to oxygen loss of the surface during the growth. The meeting point of always 3 bright and 3 dark domains are topological defects and named ferroelectric vortices.
