Scanning Thermal Microscopy, #SThM is an #AFM mode which allows mapping of thermal properties of the sample, like #temperature or thermal conductivity by means of tiny #thermocouple used as AFM probe. This 30x30 µm image exposes the thermoconductivity map of heterogenous sample (#carbon #nanofibers embedded in epoxy matrix) overlaid over AFM topography. Dark areas correspond to lower higher thermal conductivity.
