Microchannel plate

AFM image of the microchannel plate's (MCP) cell matrix. Every dark circle is a pore, which operates as a electron-multiplier tube if 1kV is applied. Diameter of each pore is 10 um and the distance from one center to the next center is 12 um. MCP is produced from leaden-silicate glass and MCP is used as electron-volume amplifier.
